Live Burn and Seminar 2019

The Queensland Association of Fire Investigators Inc. is pleased to present a full-day event including a live burn and seminar covering battery systems – how they operate and why they fail.

Numbers are strictly limited, so early registration is recommended. Registration includes morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, seminar and live burn.

About The Event

QAFI presents a full day live burn and seminar in Brisbane on Thursday 24th of October 2019. The event will include live burn demonstrations (weather permitting), pre-burned room examinations and theories of fire scene investigations. Live burns are conducted by QAFI every two years, and this is a rare opportunity for those interested or involved in fire investigations.

The seminar will be of benefit to those involved in fire investigation and activities which follow these investigations including police, fire service, government officials, investigators, insurance and claims personnel, environmental surveyors and legal representatives. The seminar component will look at battery installation guidelines, how batteries operate and why they fail, including solar, car, mobile phone and household products.

Parking is available on-site and details will be provided with registration confirmation.

Essential attire: for sessions at the live fire site the following dress requirements must be observed:

• Long sleeves (or overalls, dust coat or appropriate jacket)
• Long pants
• Enclosed footwear

It is also recommended you wear a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.

Cancellation Policy – registration fees will be refunded in full for cancellations received via email by Friday 11th of October. No refunds will be given after this date, however registrations can be transferred to another person provided we are advised in writing.

Please note: due to site limitations, attendee numbers are strictly limited. Registrations are allocated on first received basis.
