What is QAFI?
The Queensland Association of Fire Investigators Inc. is
a non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing the
discipline of fire investigation and prevention. QAFI,
founded in 1990, provides a forum for those with an
interest in all aspects of fire to interact. It promotes
professionalism and provides education opportunities
for its members. The QAFI is the peak body for fire
investigators and its members are corporate, active and
honary life members.
Aims:
To unite for mutual benefit, those public officials and private
individuals engaged in the control of arson and other kindred
crimes.
Assist in gaining an understanding of causes of fires and means to
prevent such fires.
To provide for an exchange of technical information and
developments, and to be a focal point for educational, social and
developmental relationships between members and organisation,
thereby serving as a correlation base for attacking the arson and
accidental fire problems in Queensland.
To encourage co-operation between public service agencies and
private enterprises and associations, to further the suppression and
prevent arson fire and accidental fires in Queensland.
To encourage high professional standards of conduct among arson
investigators and to continually strive to eliminate all factors which
