What is QAFI? |
The Queensland Association of Fire Investigators Inc. is a non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing the discipline of fire investigation and prevention. QAFI, founded in 1990, provides a forum for those with an interest in all aspects of fire to interact. It promotes professionalism and provides education opportunities for its members. The QAFI is the peak body for fire investigators and its members are corporate, active and honary life members. |
Aims: |
To unite for mutual benefit, those public officials and private individuals engaged in the control of arson and other kindred crimes. Assist in gaining an understanding of causes of fires and means to prevent such fires. To provide for an exchange of technical information and developments, and to be a focal point for educational, social and developmental relationships between members and organisation, thereby serving as a correlation base for attacking the arson and accidental fire problems in Queensland. To encourage co-operation between public service agencies and private enterprises and associations, to further the suppression and prevent arson fire and accidental fires in Queensland. To encourage high professional standards of conduct among arson investigators and to continually strive to eliminate all factors which may inhibit or interfere with the administration of crime suppression or interfere with a reduction of fires. To foster and promote greater professional competence in investigation techniques of all fires and the recognition of the crime of arson. |
What are the benefits of membership? |
Information: QAFI members receive newsletters, member rates to seminars, opportunity to network with those engaged in similar industries, obtain nomination to the International Association of Arson Investigators and can subscribe to the Firepoint Journal. Networking Opportunities: There is Training Seminars annually, breakfasts and workshops and members are informed of any interstate chapter conferences and seminars. |
Membership Period |
The association membership period is from 1st January to 31st December. All memberships will be due for renewal on 1st January each year. |
