Honorary Life Membership Awards

In May 1990, the Queensland Chapter of the International Association of Fire Investigators
was founded and a small group of people keen on improving the quality of Fire Investigation
in Queensland and developing a greater community awareness of fires, met at the first
committee meeting. Since then, the QAFI has grown substantially in both its membership and

Controlled inferno

It's not often you see a house engulfed in flames with fire officers and a bunch of
well-dressed men and women standing around calmly watching. But that's what
happened when the Queensland Association of Fire Investigations (QAFI) held a training
day in Brisbane. Of course, the location had been specially chosen, and the inferno set up
